Okay, so this is a trigger statement and it flies in the face of my usual mantra that Success is NOT generated by material things because it is a feeling not an accolade, so hear me out!
When it comes to Success, money is never far away. Whether you are seeking love and happiness, freedom and time, career and status or a car, watch and luxury, money does matter.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It provides us with stability, security, freedom and opportunity.⠀
BUT does it really make you successful?
I don't think you can buy success. I believe success is a feeling that comes from being genuinely happy, loved and fulfilled. I am sure you have heard of the saying"money cant buy happiness" or "some of the wealthiest people are unfulfilled", both true to a degree. If they don't have every aspect of their life and needs nurtured such as health, love, connection and purpose for example then with all the money they desire happiness (success) is likely to evade them. Money is, however, fairly essential as a resource, tool, energy, currency to achieving a lot of the things we aspire to have and be, even fulfilling our basic needs like security or hunger we need it - big house or small you need money, allotment or not you need to buy food. I believe we commonly say "we don't need money to be successful" because it has been demonised as a result of all the problems it causes. The reality is you don't need to be a millionaire or even have that much to satisfy your fundamentals, but you do need some.
I Love Money There I said it!
I wish we could buy homes and objects of desire with love, unfortunately this isn't the currency we exchange in, unless maybe it is?⠀⠀ What if we switched our negative view of money as something that generates greed and unhappiness to a positive energy exchange and dream enabler, would we have a better relationship with it? 💙 Could it help remove the labels 'evil' or 'dirty'? 💙 Could it mute the envy that comes from comparing financial wealth? 💙 Could it squash the fear to charge our worth? 💙 Could it also ease the judgment of wanting material things?⠀⠀
⠀
It might be radial thinking BUT imagine if we thought of money as a form of LOVE. I love money, the opportunities and possibilities, the adventures it enables. I love giving it away and the positive impact it can make in the world when used to embody our ideals.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ For me the secret to success and money is the ability to maintain balance and understand what the cash or the asset purchased represents to you, for instance:
💙 The luxury holiday = Lasting Memories 💙 Big home full of laughter = Contentment 💙 Ability to help others = Devotion
I appreciate this is a very utopian view of the world. I accept there are many very good reasons to hate money, but I encourage you to look at it objectively and question if you could better embrace your relationship with money and invite more success into your life?
